Ithaca Software actually got its start at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York as Flying Moose Software. The name was later changed when founders, Carl Bass and Garry Wiegand, were asked: "Do you really think a CAD company CEO wants to write a big check for a 3D graphics toolkit to Flying Moose Software?" I did not join the company until after its move to Alameda, California. Alas, I am the last Ithacan standing at Autodesk.
