A Bold Proposal: Proposed Layout of Solar Panels for My Home in Cypress, Texas

As I mentioned in my blog post, we are going solar on our new home in Texas:

I got the detailed proposal from Freedom Solar Power. There are 14 panels on the front of my house (faces south) and 28 panels on the side (faces east). The combination of these 360-watt panels will supply 15 kilowatts of electricity. That is estimated to be 80% of our family's energy needs. (Here is where a 3D view would have been handy. Alas, I asked Lennar Homes for the AutoCAD drawings for my home but never got a response.)

Solar panel placement is alive in the lab.
