My wife, Sheryl, and I have a townhouse at Crown Harbor in Alameda, California. In a series of blog posts, I outlined the process we followed in 2011 to make some energy improvements to our home:

- A Modest Proposal: Improvements based on My Home Energy Audit
In 2013, we signed up for green energy supplied by the city of Alameda.
In the years since, I have tracked my savings even though energy costs have increased.
So as an Alameda Green customer who is paying attention to our family's energy consumption, I was happy to see this:
Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) has once again been recognized as a national industry leader for its green power program, Alameda Green. AMP has earned two separate top 10 rankings from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Energy's primary national laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research. AMP understands that its customers care about the environment, the community, and saving money.
Green energy is alive in the lab.
