Oblio and Arro[w] from Harry Nilsson's The Point!
Project Arro was our Invitation-Only Technology Preview where the simulation team worked exclusively with existing Autodesk Simulation users. Project Arro was designed to enable Autodesk Simulation Mechanical, Autodesk Simulation CFD, and Autodesk Moldflow users to rapidly simplify and prepare CAD for simulation. Project Arro read in native CAD geometry and neutral files, allowed users to modify them with many built in direct modeling tools, and then wrote out simulation-ready CAD files that could be more easily and efficiently meshed.
Originally, the project got its name from an acronym:
-
A = Analyze geometry
-
R = Repair problems
-
R = Remove unnecessary features
-
O = Optimize designs
Today, Product Manager, Mike Smell, has some exciting news to share with you regarding Project Arro. Over the past year, we have been steadily refining our Project Arro technology with the help of our simulation users. We are now ready to start commercializing this technology, and in the near future, users will start to see technology from Project Arro become available in Fusion 360. To learn more about what's coming in Fusion 360 and when, Mike encourages you to take a look at our latest blog post on this topic.
Thanks to all of our simulation users who participated in the preview and help graduate this technology to Fusion 360. You truly have helped shape the future of our technology.
Me and my Arro are alive in the lab.
