When we envision workflows at Autodesk, we strive for the ideal. We recognize the benefits of an all-digital, all-electronic process where everything is optimized to minimize cost, reduce time, and avoid confusion; however, I'll never forget my time working on Océ Plan Center which was our electronic plan room where architects could upload drawings and general/subcontractors could request printed copies from reprography shops that could output hundreds of E-sized sheets in an hour. For situations that were not the ideal, sheets could be scanned into Plan Center rather than published from original drawings. I was reminded of this today when I got an email from my friend, Morten Justesen, who is a marketing director in the reprographics industry.

It's great to see that solutions for Autodesk customers come from many angles. If you have questions about the Colortrac scanner, Morten tells me that his contact, Siobhan Scott, would love to hear from you at [email protected].
Scanning is alive in the lab.
