Most technology previews are open to the public. Some are confidential and invitation-only. Senior Product Manager, Jon den Hartog recently described one that the Design, Lifecycle, and Simulation division is conducting via Autodesk Labs.
Project Arro is our ongoing tech preview program for capabilities under development for SimStudio. The goal is to engage with customers so we can incorporate feedback as the product is developed. Phase 1 was focused on geometry capabilities. Phase 2 starts now and begins to introduce simulation capabilities with Nastran.
With the June Labs release, topological optimization can be used to design parts like the swing arm below:
We will be updating builds frequently as we expand the breadth and depth of what's available.
Project Arro is a program focused on our Autodesk Simulation user community. The intent is to help our teams closely engage with participants so we can all learn about the needs of our users and better understand how we can best address them. Last year more than 100 enhancements were made that directly traced to collaboration with our users.
This tech preview installation is independent from the commercially available SimStudio Tools 2016 installation. The two can sit side-by-side. Participants need an Autodesk ID with Simulation Mechanical Flex, CFD Flex, or Moldflow Flex entitlements to use the tech preview. The initial release runs through July 31, 2015.
Thanks Jon. So if you would like to be considered:
Simulation is alive in the lab.
