Project Dalton is our free technology preview of a 1D flow analysis tool that allows you to develop and analyze your complex piping systems and distribution networks. It helps you understand how your systems will perform when subjected to different operating parameters and routing options. You import a PCF file to describe your piping system, and are then able to set physical and operating parameters for your system and let the technology preview solve for a variety of results, including pressure, velocity, flow rate, mass flow rate, and Reynolds Number. Project Dalton presents results graphically, and you can export them for post processing via text files.
One theory of time is that it happens all at once and that we only experience it linearly. Well until we can travel at the speed of light, we're stuck with the universe as we know it. Time's ticking away. Time keeps ticking away. So with this in mind, yesterday I posted a new build of Project Dalton whose time-bomb has been set to August 2, 2015. That gives you more time to try it and share your feedback. For existing users who need the update or users who have yet to start, you can get the new build by joining and visiting the project on the Autodesk Feedback Community.
We look forward to your feedback. If the technology fails to meet your needs, we welcome the test case you can provide. If it does meet your needs, we'd like to know that too. Remember: Trying a technology preview, liking it, but not telling us, is the same as not trying it.
Extending time is alive in the lab.
