In addition to these upcoming events, there was AUx Johannesburg, South Africa held on September 4. This was actually the third AUx Johannesburg that took place at The Forum at The Campus, Bryanston, Johannesburg. The event featured several Autodesk thought leaders and presenters including Jon Pittman, Vice President Corporate Strategy. Following a 22 hour "hop" from San Francisco to Johannesburg, Jon delivered the Keynote Presentation to architects, engineers, Autodesk channel partners and other design professionals about the Future of How Things Are Made.
"When the World Cup was in South Africa in 2010, we were just starting to imagine how mobile devices and social media would play into the experience of being a football fan."
"Infinite computing gives people access to computational power and lots of shared data through cloud, social, and mobile technology."
"Not only is Tesla tapping into consumers’ increasing interest in sustainable, intelligent product design, but it’s following a business model familiar to anyone who’s seen the world of 3D modeling and drafting shrink from multi-million dollar workstations to the laptops in every teenager’s bedroom — tapping into rapidly changing economies of scale to bring once impractical technology into the mainstream."
"The ways things interconnect and relate to each other is deeper, both physically and digitally. It’s getting easier to create complex and interconnected systems — things talk to each other easily; design and use of physical things depends on the internet of things."
The event statistics included:
- 369 attendees including 300 customers
- 20 Track Sessions
- 16 Track Sessions Speakers
- HP Sponsored 25 laptops for the hands on lab sessions and an HP Slate 7 Tablet for a competition prize
