The plan is to extend Project Scandium to get more feedback

Happy Valentine's Day.

Project Scandium for Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight 2014 software is our free technology preview that extends simulation capabilities by offering new capabilities to try out and provide feedback. These extensions include:

• New Parametric Study option in Optimization
• 3D Injection-Compression and 3D Compression molding enhancements
• 3D Part Inserts can have orthotropic material properties
• New Core Shift boundary condition
• New Results for Midplane/Dual Domain and 3D
• Gate Freeze improvements
• Dual Domain and 3D meshing improvements

The technology preview relies on Moldflow Insight 2014 licenses and requires the Moldflow Insight 2014 product keys and serial numbers, but the Project Scandium Technology Preview can be installed and work side-by-side with other Autodesk Moldflow 2014 products. This technology preview expired on February 9, 2014. When a technology preview expires, one of three things can happen:

• Graduate to the next step like a beta or being made available on the App Exchange.
• Retire for now (could resurface at a later date).
• Initiate another technology preview to gather more feedback.

In this case the team is opting to go for another round of feedback. The team is on it! Stay tuned.
