"It's an orange sky
Always with some other guy
It's just a broken lullaby
Bye bye love"

This is my last copy/paste blog posting to let you know when Autodesk Freewheel will be unavailable. Years ago Project Freewheel graduated from Autodesk Labs. Project Freewheel users are now using Autodesk Freewheel — the production version. Autodesk Freewheel lets anyone visualize a DWF file using just a browser. With our focus on Autodesk 360, the days of Autodesk Freewheel have come to pass. With the DWF file sharing ability of Autodesk 360, Autodesk Freewheel will be shut down on January 31, 2014. Users can graduate to Autodesk 360. The APIs are different, so site changes are required. Though there will be no new releases of Autodesk Design Review and Autodesk Freewheel is being shut down, based on its usefulness as part of Autodesk 360, the DWF format lives on! Autodesk applications continue to output DWF files and solutions like Autodesk Vault and Autodesk 360 continue to leverage them.
Here is the information about the downtime:
Several times during the year, new functionality is released into Autodesk's Enterprise Information Systems to enhance the company's services to partners / customers and help the organization run more efficiently. The next update is scheduled for three hours on January 18, 2013. To implement these changes, Autodesk Freewheel will experience its last planned downtime from 2:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, January 18 through 5:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, January 18. In Greenwich, this would be 12:00 a.m. UDT on Sunday, January 19 through 3:00 a.m. UDT on Sunday, January 19. |
We realize that any systems outage impacts the operations of Autodesk, our partners, and our customers. We work diligently to minimize the duration of downtime and appreciate your understanding. So take a three hour break and use the time to convert your sites from Autodesk Freewheel to Autodesk 360.
On January 31, users who navigate freewheel.autodesk.com URLs will see:
Viewers of this page will automatically be redirected to Autodesk 360 after 30 seconds.
