Most technology previews on Autodesk Labs come from various parts of Autodesk. There have been some exceptions. For example, some of the Plugins of the month came from Autodesk Developer Network members. Project Sci-Viz for 3ds Max relied on technology from the Olson Molecular Graphics Laboratory at the Scripps Research Institute and from the Johnson Lab at UCSF. Here is another technology preview in that vein.
Let's be clear:
- Tally, by KieranTimberlake and PE INTERNATIONAL, is a plug-in application for Autodesk Revit that allows you to quantify the environmental impact of building materials for whole building analysis as well as comparative analyses of design options.
- Project Tally is a public beta where KieranTimberlake, PE INTERNATIONAL, and Autodesk are collecting feedback on the Tally technology from Autodesk customers.
So our interest in this technology preview is about what you think of this technology. Recall that trying a technology preview, liking it, but not telling us, is the same as not trying it. We need user affirmation for technologies to be able to take the next step in their evolution. You can reach all parties involved in four ways:
Tallying the technology preview smiles or frowns is alive in the lab.
