Do you ever get 2D layouts from AutoCAD and want to convert them to 3D models in Inventor? The free technology preview of the 2D to 3D Tool for Inventor allows you to quickly create 3D models of 2D-designed parts. The tool is activated as part of file import and automatically transforms drawing views into orthogonal sketches. Yesterday I posted an update of the download that includes support for Inventor 2014. The team would like to hear from Inventor 2014 users. The wrinkle here is that you need a system where both Inventor 2013 and Inventor 2014 are installed.
