"We had a good thing! We had Fring, we had a lab, we had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork! You could have shut your mouth, cooked, and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect!"
— Mike to Walter White on Breaking Bad
My favorite TV show, Breaking Bad, has recently made its triumphant return to the airwaves. In similar fashion, a new iteration of the Project Scandium technology preview has made its way to Autodesk Labs.
Project Scandium for Autodesk Simulation Moldflow 2014 Insight is our free technology preview that extends simulation capabilities by offering new capabilities to try out and provide feedback. Your feedback will continue to shape the future of this technology. If you are using a 64-bit system, you can try the technology preview and reach the team in a variety of ways:
Hanno van Raalte, who is the Product Manager for Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Products, gave me a list of what's in the 2014 version:
-
New Parametric Study option in Optimization
-
3D Injection-Compression and 3D Compression molding enhancements
-
3D Part Inserts can have orthotropic material properties
-
New Core Shift boundary condition
-
New Results for Midplane/Dual Domain and 3D
-
Gate Freeze improvements
-
Dual Domain and 3D meshing improvements
The technology preview runs until February 9, 2014.
Sometimes size matters. With Scandium2014.zip breaking the 2.75GB barrier, I have enabled the Autodesk Download Manager for the technology preview download. The download manager monitors the download and lets you resume if something bad happens during the download.
Simulation cooking is alive in the lab.
