As you can see above, my blog has a new banner. Although It's Alive in the Lab started out covering just Autodesk Labs, over the years it has expanded to include the Autodesk Gallery, Autodesk Research, and all things from the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
So what's the deal with the new banner? Earlier in the year when we debuted the new Autodesk brand at TED, you may have noticed:
-
Our new Autodesk logo is a 3D shape that can actually be fabricated. Mere's my Socialcam video of one being 3D printed in the Autodesk Gallery.
-
Inspired by origami, the signature images for our design products are more abstract.
Given the variety of ways our design applications can be used, we figured we should not limit ourselves to a specific image of one particular use.
Consistent with this new branding, some creative folks provided me with my new blog banner. Thanks to Associate Creative Director, Alain Boulduc, Art Director, Darin Eriksen, and Brand Project Manager, Judi Le, for making my new banner happen. Look for similar changes coming to the Autodesk Labs site itself.
