With apologies to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band for the title of this blog posting, it was 20 years ago today (actually yesterday) that Ithaca Software was acquired by Autodesk. Autodesk HR provided me with the list of employees on that fateful day.

Ithaca Software actually got its start at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York as Flying Moose Software. The name was later changed when founders, Carl Bass and Garry Wiegand, were asked "Do you really think a CAD company CEO wants to write a big check for a 3D graphics toolkit to Flying Moose Software?" I did not join the company until after its move to Alameda, California. With Carl as Autodesk CEO, Jeff Kowalski as Autodesk CTO, and Brian Mathews as an Autodesk VP, some may joking ask just who acquired whom?
Anniversary celebration is alive in the lab.
