My so-called Social Media Life

In an earlier blog post, I relayed the story of how I came up with the right hand navigation elements on the Autodesk Labs site. An iconoclast for icons - the saga of icons on the Labs site Though these icons allow Autodesk Labs site visitors to provide feedback on technology previews using social media, actually this is just part of the story.

My social media life is actually a web of connected interactions. I share information as well as respond to feedback in a variety of ways. Shaan Hurley compares the management of this to wrestling an octopus. My goal is to make information available in a variety of places so people can consume it and respond to it where they want instead of just where I want to post it.

Regardless of the trials and tribulations of doing more than just posting one blog entry, social media is the way to go.
