The River Analysis Extension for AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD Map 3D is a sophisticated river modeling software package that supports HEC-RAS (Hydrologic Engineering Center River Analysis System). The technology preview makes it easy to compute water surface profiles for modeling rivers, bridges, culverts, spillways, levees, floodplain and floodway delineations, stream diversions, channel improvements, and split flows.
A Mr. Richard Feder from Fort Lee, New Jersey, writes:

Is River Analysis able to compute unsteady flow data? Unfortunately I haven't found anything about that in the help file.
Technical Consultant, Matthew Anderson replied:

River Analysis can only import the Max Water Surface from a completed unsteady analysis. The Workflow would be to build the River Analysis model, export the model to HEC-RAS to perform the time-varying unsteady analysis to calculate the Max WSEL, and import the Max WSEL for floodplain mapping.
That's how this whole Autodesk Labs technology preview thing works. People come to the Autodesk Labs site. They download things. They try things. They ask questions. They get answers. If you have not tried the technology preview for yourself, you can get started now:
Dialog is alive in the lab.
