Project Spark was our free technology preview of a simplified 3D building information modeling (BIM) solution. Using Project Spark, building professionals could create designs efficiently with real-world building objects, produce more reliable documentation faster, and share files with consultants using Revit or AutoCAD-based products. I once referred to it as the gateway drug for Autodesk Revit.
Autodesk has had AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT for years. After being a technology preview on Autodesk Labs for some time, Inventor LT went on to join Autodesk Inventor in the Autodesk portfolio. I guess the Revit team had LT envy. By the way, LT just stands for "el-tee" even though its origin may have come from Limited Technology. We never ever call it Light. In keeping with our LT theme, Project Spark has graduated from Autodesk Labs to become Autodesk Revit LT. You can learn more about it at:

This is not just a simple graduation. Additional features and corrections have been incorporated into the Revit LT version based on your feedback during the technology preview phase. Thanks to everyone who downloaded the technology preview and helped shape its future. For existing users, the Project Spark technology preview will operate until October 1, 2012.
Graduation ceremonies are alive in the lab.
