3 sentences every American should know how to say in every language

My blog post last month about the Project Artoo Read Me document being localized into additional languages reminded me of this. Unfortunately, like many Americans, I am only fluent in English. Oh sure I studied Spanish in high school, but that was long ago. Now all I can remember how to say is Pablo esta in la bibliotheca. That sure will come in handy if I ever get arrested in Mexico or Spain. So here are three phrases that all Americans should learn how to say in every language.

English	I am an American citizen. People know I am here. I would like a lawyer please.
Dutch	Ik ben een Amerikaans staatsburger. Mensen weten dat ik hier ben. Ik wil graag een advocaat te behagen.
French	Je suis un citoyen américain. Les gens savent que je suis ici. Je voudrais un avocat s'il vous plaît.
Italian	Sono un cittadino americano. La gente sa che sono qui. Vorrei un avvocato per favore.
German	Ich bin amerikanischer Staatsbürger. Die Leute wissen, bin ich hier. Ich möchte bitte einen Rechtsanwalt.
Portuguese	Eu sou um cidadão Americano. As pessoas sabem que eu estou aqui. Por favor, eu gostaria de um advogado.
Spanish	Yo soy un ciudadano americano. La gente sabe que estoy aquí. Me gustaría tener un abogado, por favor.
