The other day I pointed out how the by product tab of the Autodesk Labs home page has been redesigned.
Technology Previews by Product on Autodesk Labs
Ralph Grabowski posted a comment:
I would like to see a way to categorize Lab products by platform, something like this:
- requires AutoCAD; requires Inventor; etc
- requires Web browser
- stand-alone
This would let me immediately see only those programs that work in a Web browser, say.
I liked this idea, so I mocked up a page:
Technology Previews by Platform on Autodesk Labs
What do you think? Should I add another By Platform tab to the home page? Or should I just make the By Product tab more strict? Right now the By Product tab is for users of a particular application. It's a little different than being for an application. As an example, the Photo Scene Editor for Project Photofly exports to DWG so it is of interest to AutoCAD users, and as such it appears in the AutoCAD list; however, the Photo Scene Editor is really a stand-alone application which does not require that AutoCAD be installed on the same system. I am interested in your thoughts at [email protected].
