Last month we got a new exhibit at the entry to our Gallery at One Market. The Brokk demolition robot came to us from our gallery in Lake Oswego. Brokk is a leading supplier of remote-controlled demolition equipment to the building, process, and nuclear industries.
The people responsible for this exhibit:
- Brokk // more
The Autodesk software used to make the demolition robot:
- Autodesk Inventor // more
By using Autodesk Inventor to combine their mechanical and electrical designs into a single digital model, Brokk was able to validate the range of motion and interoperability of interchangeable parts. The result was that they cut the number of physical prototypes they needed in half and reduced their time to market by about a third. This is great news since these remote-controlled robots go where it its too dangerous for humans to do the work using other tools.
We are happy to have this cool exhibit right at the gallery's doorstep.
The gallery is open to the public on Wednesdays from 12 pm to 5 pm, and admission is free. Visit us.
The notion of getting destructive is alive in the lab.
