Many people know Yves Béhar from his work with the One Laptop per Child project. Mission Motors partnered with Yves Béhar to design a zero-emissions motorcycle that combines performance with leading industrial design. Using Autodesk software, Mission One is the world’s fastest production electric motorcycle and was designed in just 1 year.

Part of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping, Autodesk Alias Surface 3D makes it easy to rapidly create high-quality production surfaces ready for integration into manufacturing models. Since the motorcycle had no gas tank nor exhaust pipe, the team was free to think outside the box in its approach to the design. Their goal was to create a shape that was appealing to motorcycle enthusiasts yet represent that the vehicle was powered by an alternative source of energy.
The Mission One electric motorcycle attains a top speed of 150 miles per hour with a range of 150 miles per charge. By uniting Mission Motors’ engineering might with Yves Béhar’s design aesthetic, the team created a work of art that is fun to ride and good for the environment.
