I am from New Orleans. I have relatives there. With the Saints' Super Bowl victory over the Colts on Sunday, Saints mania is alive and well. As someone in the Bay Area surrounded by 49er fans, for the past two days I have enjoyed how people at work have come up to me and congratulated me on the Saints' victory as if I had something to do with it. I love it. Meanwhile emails from relatives regarding all things Saints have been forwarded like chain letters. Tonight my sister sent me this. According to the email headers, it looks like the message originated with someone I have never met named Peggy S. Bonfires are a tradition in the New Orleans area.
These pictures are from St. James Parish which is about 60 miles from New Orleans. These structures were probably burned Sunday night after the game. Thanks Peggy S. wherever you are.
Celebration is alive in the pyrotechnic lab.
