When we create the system requirements for an application or service, we do so based on how we have tested the solution. For example, the Autodesk Freewheel system requirements list:
- Firefox 1.2 or higher
- IE 6 or higher
At the time Freewheel was released we had not tried the Chrome browser. Recently I was alerted to the following page:
Since Autodesk Freewheel has a simple HTML interface for embedding your designs within your own web pages (see API documentation), it works easily with Chrome. The same is true with Project Freewheel - our Autodesk Labs version of Project Freewheel that is more experimental in nature. (See a comparison on the documentation page.) Although Chrome currently comprises only 3% of those who use Freewheel, it's nice to know that it works. As Chrome offers a faster browsing experience, it is possible that it may grow in popularity among the performance-oriented user base.
Checking out browser compatibilities is alive in the lab.
