Uninstalling Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009

No need to fret over uninstalling in preparation for an upgrade. The process is easy.

Since the Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009 expires on May 1, many of you will wish to uninstall it. For the vast majority of you, the uninstall should work flawlessly. A few of you may experience problems when installing Autodesk® Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009 after failed installs or uninstalls of other Autodesk products. In these cases, it is strongly recommended that you completely remove Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009 from the system and then attempt a new installation on the cleaned system. To uninstall Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009 and remove any remnants of this product from the system, follow these steps:

1. Log on to Windows as a Local System Administrator and disable any virus-scanning programs.
2. In Windows Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs and then remove Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009.
3. Using Windows Explorer, locate and delete the following folders as appropriate:
   
   Microsoft Vista 64-bit installations
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   • C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   
   Microsoft Vista 32-bit installations
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   • C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   
   Microsoft XP 64-bit installations
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
   
   Microsoft XP 32-bit installations
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009
    
4. Click Start menu (Windows) > Run.
5. In the Run dialog box, enter regedit
6. In the Registry Editor, locate and delete the following registry keys as appropriate:
   
   32-bit versions of Vista and XP
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion13.x
   • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion13.x
   
   64-bit versions of Vista and XP
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion13.x
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion13.x
   • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion13.x

   You will now have a clean system on which you can install Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview 2009.
