According to the "About" information on their own site, Delicious is a social bookmarking service that allows you to tag, save, manage, and share web pages from a centralized source. Instead of having different bookmarks on every computer, Delicious makes it easy to have a single set of bookmarks kept in sync between all of your computers. If your friends use Delicious, you can send them interesting bookmarks that they can check out the next time they log in. Of course, they can do the same for you.
Delicious uses the power of the internet community to rank the most interesting sites - the more bookmarks a site has - the more interesting it probably is. As viewers of the local news, we're all familiar with the phrase "Our top story of the night..." That "top story" was selected by the producer of the TV news show. Imagine if the TV viewers got to pick what should be the top story of the night. Perhaps there would be less about the OctoMom and more about what people can do to restore faith in the economy. But I digress...
We were all happy to see that Project Dragonfly has been up there in terms of delicious bookmarks. I guess people have really taken to the idea of do-it-yourself floor planning:
So check out Project Dragonfly if you have not done so already. You can bookmark the site with delicious and share the "news" with your friends. The Autodesk Labs community can make Project Dragonfly the top story of the night. :-)
Keeping abreast of social networking is alive in the lab.
