Project Showroom is a technology preview for Autodesk's vision of a new web-based home decorating tool. It allows you to browse product selections from leading manufacturers, and get a feel for how those products will look in real-world settings. If you clear your browser cache, you can try it out for yourself at:
On Friday of last week, we released Project Showroom 1.0.10. Although it has been less than a week, we wanted to slip in a few changes before we headed off to AU, so I pushed a new build to the server last night. Due to the extreme shortness of time, Project Showroom 1.0.11 has only a few changes. Though small in size, software developers, Terence Wang and Shirley Tu put in the long hours to make this one happen so quickly. Despite being one man down (Get well Elliott Li.), our QA team of Yongmei Wang, Allen Ban, and Lily Gao put the release through its paces.
Project Showroom 1.0.11 contains:
-
new list contents icon
The list content function has a new icon that is consistent with some of our other software as a service technology previews under development. -
mini-browser tabs
The tabs for the mini-browser have been sharpened. If we're going to make AU videos for Project Showroom, we want everything to look its best. -
item callouts
The callouts in the scene view pop up above where you click. This allows you to find them easily because they come up consistently where you expect them to. -
1. save
2. redirect to login
3. back to save after login
If you save a room without being logged in, you are now redirected to the Save Room dialog after logging in. This makes saving selections easier for those who neglected to sign in. -
special characters
The Save room dialog has been revamped and improved to handle special characters.
Putting our best software as a service forward for AU is alive in the lab.
