As a follow up to his post about migration stats, Software Engineer, Frederic Loranger, was kind enough to submit this blog article when a Mr. Richard Feder from Fort Lee, New Jersey inquired:
Project Freewheel - I am a victim! How do I get access to my designs and sessions?
Autodesk has now deployed a consolidated login database that enables our online users to access the following assets with a single login ID:
- Autodesk Subscription
- Product Activation
- Autodesk Discussion Group
- Autodesk University
- Autodesk Labs
- Alias Design Community
- Civic Engineering Community
- Impression Community
- Manufacturing Community
In the new consolidated login database, each login ID can be associated with one and only one email address. [Wow - kind of like The Highlander - There can be only one!] If you had multiple login IDs that were sharing the same email address on some Autodesk assets, only one login ID will have survived the migration process. The others would be victims.
What does this mean to a Project Freewheel user? If you were part of the migrated users and kept your login ID, the migration should be seamless to you. You should be able to login to Project Freewheel and access your designs and sessions that were previously saved on our servers; So far so good.
If you were part of the victims, it means that your login ID for Project Freewheel has not survived the migration. You won't be able to access your design for the time being. BUT WAIT! If you want to regain access to your designs and sessions, simply send a request to [email protected] with both your old and new login IDs. You might have to register again to get a new login ID, or you might simply want to re-use one that has survived the migration (from another Autodesk asset). We'll see what we can do to hook you back up.
