Autodesk Inventor users have been downloading the Advanced Simulation Technology Preview (ASTP) and the Shrinkwrap Add-in for Autodesk Inventor. A few of you have experienced a problem trying to get both of these technologies to cooperate on the same machine.
Autodesk Inventor Product Manager, Pete Lord, has a workaround that allows you to use Shrinkwrap and ASTP simultaneously. The problem is related to the order that the ASTP connection add-in gets loaded with respect to Shrinkwrap. To control the order, install the ASTP, then go to the Tools>Add-in Manager. Uncheck the ‘Load on Startup’ option for ASTP Connection. Exit, and restart Inventor. You can now return to the Add-in Manager and Load ASTP Connection by checking the load/unload option.
Once you do this, ASTP and Shrinkwrap Add-in both work.
