Content Search Alpha is our overall Autodesk framework for aggregating design content in a searchable way. It leverages the richness of design data that separates it from traditional forms of information sharing such as images. Visual Search is a technology prototype where people can search for content independent of the metadata that is integral to the design process. Visual Search is based on shape.
One of the aspects of Visual Search is the ability to set up your own visual space. This is a personal search space. To do so, you log in:
You then use the "Go to My Visual Space" link to navigate to your space:
You have the ability to customize the look and capabilities available in your space:
An updated version of Visual Search is now available on Autodesk Labs. With this update, admins can enable or disable the search features in their visual spaces. By default, a user can search in 4 ways (draw a doodle, supply a 2D file, supply a 3D file, supply an image):
Suppose you only want your a user to search by uploading his 3D model to search for similar 3D models. In this case you could remove "A Doodle," "2D Drawing," and "An Image (Picture)" choices for your search space.
Why not set up your own personal search space and tell us what you think [email protected].
Should Content Search Alpha include the experimental search capabilities of Visual Search?
