To quote Sally Field from her 1984 Best Actress Oscar acceptance speech: "You like me. You really like me." We've gotten our first bit of feedback regarding the AutoCAD Command Complete Bonus Tool. A Mr. Richard Feder from Fort Lee, New Jersey writes in:
Wow! That is a really great feature. There are a couple of those old commands that you only use from time to time like when somebody asks you about them, but you cannot remember them for the world. This feature should make them much easier to find. I think it would be even better if (as an option) instead of a simple list of commands, a table could be displayed. The table would consist of three columns (that could actually be configurable). Those columns could be: command name, tooltip, and alias. There are a lot of commands, especially if there are very similar ones, where the tooltip would be really helpful. This way it would not only be a tool for people who know what they are looking for but also a good reminder for everyone who wants to learn something. IMHO there are a lot of really great commands in AutoCAD that people do not use simply because there is no icon for them, so the Command Complete bonus tool should facilitate using commands and should make people use them more and discover some new ones that they did not know before. In general, I think that as great as AutoCAD is, some may consider that it has overgrown itself (functionality-wise), and now every tool that helps users understand its possibilities is just great. |
Thanks. We're glad you like it. We will consider this enhancement request for a future update. It's not all tea and crumpets though. We do have a few issues that discussion group users pointed out that we could improve upon. We'll consider those too. Creating additives that make existing products easier to use is alive in the lab.
