Are Project Freewheel and Autodesk Freewheel the same?
Although the objectives for the two Freewheels are different as outlined in It's two, two, two Freewheels from one... (one company that is), at this moment the version of the software engine is the same. Project Freewheel was updated on March 23 as part of developing Autodesk Freewheel to give the new code some exposure before Autodesk Freewheel went live. The new code included performance improvements for 3D. The hardware behind these systems differs with Autodesk Freewheel existing in a more robust environment.

The only difference between builds 6 and 19 of version 1.0,0 are some informational content changes that describe Freewheel in the non-Labs environment, The engines that provide the Freewheel are identical for Project Freewheel and Autodesk Freewheel. So although we didn't make a big announcement at the time, Project Freewheel is very much alive in the lab.
