Many of us at Autodesk were part of Buzzsaw.com. We saw personally how the bursting of the dot-com bubble in the fall of 2001 marked a turning point for the web. At the time, investors concluded that the web was over-hyped, when in fact bubbles and consequent shakeouts appear to be a common feature of all technological revolutions.
The concept of "Web 2.0" represents a rebirth of the internet after "the big burst." One aspect of this rebirth is user driven content, Concepts like Wikipedia and blogging are mainstays of Web 2.0. So is YouTube. So we were delighted to see a customer supplied video of Autodesk Design Review 2008 on YouTube.
Thanks to DWF Senior Product Manager, Hilde Sevens, for the tip. With customer involvement like this, Web 2.0 is very much alive on the internet and Autodesk is a part of it.
