Export DWG for Maya Now Available for Maya 2009

Installs

The Maya team has updated the technology preview of the export to DWG capability to support Maya 2009. We're happy to share it with you via Autodesk Labs. Autodesk® Maya® software is a powerful, integrated 3D modeling, animation, effects, and rendering solution. To get the DWG export utility:

The utility is available for Maya in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors. This is part of an envisioned overall workflow of:

  1. Create an initial design expression in Maya.
  2. Export file from Maya to the DWG file format.
  3. Convert DWG™ files to SAT file format (ACIS® Solid) in AutoCAD® software.
  4. Import SAT file to Revit Architecture for documentation and inclusion in BIM model.

So try it out and please tell us what you think: labs.maya.dwg@autodesk.com.

Connecting the dots between the latest version of one of our easiest to use modelers and one of our most popular file formats is alive in the lab.
