Updated Translator Add-ins for Autodesk Inventor Now Available
Yesterday we released an updated version of the Translator Add-ins for Autodesk Inventor. These new installers are compatible with SP2 of Autodesk Inventor. This means the Translator Add-ins are compatible with Inventor 2008, Inventor 2008 SP1, and Inventor 2008 SP2. The add-ins continue to be packaged with the download of the Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview.
The update is applicable to all languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The supported file versions include:
- Parasolid: Versions 9-18
- UG: Versions 3 and 4
- SolidWorks: Versions 2003 to 2007
- Pro/E: All versions up to Wildfire V3 for parts and Release 14 and later for assemblies
- GRANITE: All versions up to 4.0
For the supported file types, the Translator Add-ins allow Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Inventor LT Technology Preview users to read and write the following:
Keeping experimental technologies compatible with the latest in Autodesk product offerings is alive in the lab.

The translation of the model works great, It would be much more useful if the features would import with the parametric values so they could be editable. I have several thousand Pro-E & SolidWorks models with associated Drawings that I need to convert to Inventorl. Is this a future option? We would even be willing to Pay for it.

Thank you for the feedback. This is the kind of request we like to get and is why we make technologies available on Autodesk Labs. We can certainly consider this for a future update.

Is this add-in being updated for solidworks 2008?

The response I got from one of the team members is:
"I can’t make any promises about upcoming releases but we are working on it."
So it is something being considered for the future.
