Autodesk Labs is about listening. One of the things you told us about Project Freewheel is that it lacked file management. You uploaded your designs to Project Freewheel and had no easy way to get back to them. To date people have emailed themselves the link. Once the design was out there, it was out there until it expired and Freewheel removed it. You had no way to delete your designs.
Autodesk Labs is a community. You can participate in discussion groups, opt in or out of email notifications, or post comments to blog entries. For this you have an Autodesk Labs login. In fact the Autodesk Labs login is actually part of the "community logins" for Autodesk, so having an Autodesk Labs login allows you to participate in other communities using the same login. There are communities for:
- Autodesk Labs Community
- Civil Engineering Community
- DWF Community
- Impression Community
- Industrial Design Community
- Manufacturing Community
- The Area - 3D Animation Community
The community login will be integrated into an upcoming release of the Project Freewheel service. Uploaded designs will be associated with your login. This will allow you to easily find them, so you can email links to others. You will also be able to delete your designs. So you might want to get started by registering with Autodesk Labs today.
Extending Project Freewheel in direct response to customer feedback is alive in the lab.
